Cobloc
Cobloc
Cobloc - Brand Restyling and Visual Identity for a global architecture studio Cobloc is an architecture studio founded in 2014 by Clarisse Krause and Ola Faladé, with offices in Paris and Cotonou, Benin. Specializing in projects ranging from urban architecture to interior design, they integrate cultural influences from two continents—Europe and Africa—creating innovative and sustainable solutions.
Logo and Typography: I sought the ideal font to express their uniqueness, selecting "Pangea Afrikan," a variant of "Pangea" designed to support Latin-based African languages. This font combines the geometric lines of "Circular" with a design that bridges Europe and Africa, perfectly representing Cobloc’s bicontinental identity.
Geometric Patterns: We developed two distinctive patterns that serve as defining elements for the studio. Inspired by the geometric forms of European culture, they reinterpret traditional African textile motifs, symbolizing the union of two continents and Cobloc’s intercultural approach.
Branding Materials: The new visual identity was applied to business cards, letterheads, and promotional materials, ensuring consistency and professionalism in every aspect of their communication.
Web Design: We are currently developing a new website that will reflect this transformation, offering a digital experience that showcases the studio's projects and philosophy.
The Project
More than ten years after our first collaboration, Cobloc reached out to request a logo redesign and a new visual identity that would reflect their growth and international expansion.
